Welcome to The Unapologetic Romance Reader!

WELCOME TO THE UNAPOLOGETIC ROMANCE READER

So happy to see you, romance reader! I’m glad you’re here!

I’ve spent some time going over your responses to the subscribe survey and they are enlightening! A lot of you mentioned reading Emily Henry lol. If you haven’t filled it out yet, please do! I love reading your thoughts.

Here’s what you can expect from upcoming editions:

📖 Book Recommendations

This is the #1 thing ya’ll are interested in! Book recommendations will be inclusive of gender, sexual orientation, ability, ethnicity, age, race, and religion. I’m pulling together a Bridgerton-inspired list now.

✨ Q&As

According to the subscriber survey I sent out, ya’ll are super interested in Q&As with authors! I’m going to start reaching out this week to both traditionally published and indie authors. I’m also looking to chat with other cool people (artists, Bookstagrammers, librarians, humans, etc.) Let me know if there’s anyone in particular you want to hear from!

🔖 Upcoming Releases

So you never miss a beat! And so you can get those library holds placed ASAP.

💌 Romancelandia News

Things are always changing in the romance world. I’ll do my best to keep you updated. Like Milla Vane sharing that her long-awaited update to her A Heart of Blood and Ashes trilogy is almost done!

🏆️ Giveaways

One of my long-term goals is to partner with bookstores, authors, and book-related businesses to give away cool stuff!

About the author

I was a small-town library clerk where I made $8.04 an hour running storytime sessions, marketing, and literally running around helping patrons. It was a great job.

But the mass market paperback section of that library went mostly untouched. I’m from small-town Indiana where we have a large Amish population, which made Amish romances the most popular. The historical romances often stayed on the shelf. My director told me about how she discreetly checked out mass paperback romances for a pastor’s wife and left them in a bag on her doorstep to avoid judgment.

It’s why I wanted to name this newsletter The Unapologetic Romance Reader. Romance readers have been ridiculed for a long time about loving love. That’s silly. Life is too short to not seek out joy.

That’s what we’ll do here together. Unapologetically.
